‘We’ll take care of that’ – Trump threatens Iran on nuclear renewal

President Donald Trump hinted that the U.S. military could strike Iran again if the Islamic Republic renews its nuclear development program.

Speaking at a U.S. Navy event in Virginia on Sunday, Trump said Washington would “take care of that,” referring to any potential rebuilding of Iranian nuclear sites.

He added that if Iran takes steps to restart its nuclear activity, “we’re not going to wait so long” before acting.

The president noted that the U.S. had previously struck Iran because it was “going to have a nuclear weapon within a month,” but stressed that American military action had significantly set back the clock on that process.

At a press conference in Tehran also on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insinuated that Iran would stop cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), declaring that a recent agreement between the entity and Iran was “no longer relevant.”
